These weird times

I know these are weird times, for all of us. I know there’s a spectrum of how stressful and difficult it is. I hope you all know we are praying for you daily, everyone struggling right now whether that’s with money, your health, your mental health, etc.

We are in a strange time ourselves – we’ve known for months that my (Haley’s) work permit was ending in August. However, we thought we’d have more time and freedom to explore what to do by then. We are in a holding pattern, waiting to see what happens and waiting to see what our options are. I have always found being in limbo difficult . . but we are truly grateful that we are safe, healthy, and secure in our daily needs. We know that isn’t true for everyone.

Something that has been helpful and hopeful for me lately:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,
5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
1 Peter 1:3-8

These are tough times, and we are all going through difficult stuff. However, it will be worthwhile if we allow God to refine us through it and we stay focused on our spiritual blessings that we still have. Hang in there, everyone.
