One week ago, someone from our team here at the hospital, a friend and neighbor, died. She was only 29. It felt like almost the whole hospital took care of her, gave everything they had (including their own blood for donations), and grieved together. We are still grieving her, but it has but touching to see first how many people came together in so many ways to take of each other, and second, how many good things there are to say about our friend who is gone.
We have such a great blessing in Christ. Praise God.
“For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
