It’s been another busy week, with a major milestone passed. I took and passed the Family Medicine board exam, so I am officially a “board certified” family medicine doctor, under my own U.S. medical license. That was kind of important. 🙂 (Also, this was my last “night float”- a week of long night shifts in the ICU during my residency training.)
Now I can maintain a U.S. medical license, and once we have visas for Kenya, will apply for a Kenyan medical license as well to be able to see patients.
Ryan has been busy with work projects and planning some business travel.
We are also planning to do about 3 months of language study once we get to Africa to learn some basic Kiswahili, and we are in the process of figuring out where to do it, when to do it, and comparing costs. If anyone in the States speaks some Kiswahili, feel free to tutor us!
And we have had more donations; we cannot say thank you enough. Seeing people we love and respect being willing to be part of this with us has been very humbling and encouraging. And thank you to everyone who has prayed for us – your support is very real and very meaningful.
